Knitting -- Not just for the Elderly

The other day I was in walmart with my Boyfriend, whom I love dearly.... He like most men in their 20's is addicted to video games. While I can't really say anything poor about this addiction as I too enjoy to play. However, he will spend $8 dollars a piece for magazines about the games and anywhere from $10 - $100 for games... Yet when I said I wanted to pop over to the craft department to see if the new issue of Vouge Knitting was out he proceeded to mock me because he assumes that only elderly people knit. The truth is I love to knit. I can do it during classes, movies, car rides.... I have busy hands... It helps me focus on things if I can be doing something with my hands while i focus on something else... i guess you'd call it multitasking... So on to my current projects, as of late i have been working on knitting a blanket, two different pairs of socks, a hat, mittens, and fingertipless gloves.... yes that is a lot of projects... yet even though my projects usually turn out right and needless to say gorgeous... a lot of people still look at me peculiarly when i tell them my favorite hobbies are sewing and knitting... I design a lot of clothes and would love to start designing knitting patterns because knitting makes me happy and i would love to see knitting become popular among other people my age... yet a lot of patterns are still geared toward the elderly or middle aged.... It's kind of a downer... Am i the only one who feels this way???
