I stink at this, Officially!
Alright so I offcially stink at this for real! I think its partly because I don't have an offical work space set up yet. I've finally gotten home after being trapped in the Oklahoma Panhandle for too too long! Now I am home, living with my parents. Not exactly how I thought my life after college job would be... But since the recession is hitting us and hitting us hard I have decided to devote my life to working on my book, Knitting for the Zombie Apocalypse. I have come up with five chapters and about 30 projects for the book. I have even found some yarn at a hobbie lobby that is going to knit up a pair of zombie socks! However, this book is more expensive than I'd anticipated... supplies are very expensive. however i am having a great time writing the book and am open to any suggestions! So far I have one pattern completely finished, a slouchy hat, called "Zombies only like me for my brains" I like the humor. lol.. I am also thinking of adding sections with lists of great zombies movies to get you in the mood to knit and an apocalypse playlist as well as fun zombie foods and zombie games incase you need a break from knitting. Let me know what you guys think!

Updates
Well it's been awhile since I've posted here, I forgot about this blog lol....
I finished the blanket, it turned out rectangular, which is an accomplishment! Both pairs of socks, pretty much everything I was working on before Christmas! Now I have new projects, another pair of toe up socks, an off the shoulder sweater that I can't adequately describe! I am also working on a scarf with pockets and my newest labor of love is a very intricate fisherman's sweater! It's the prettiest cream wool and the design is all cables, diamonds and braids! It has a shawl collar and pockets on the front. But the buttons go very high up so that it is more like a jacket than a cardigan. I however, want a cardigan so I'm trying to decide if I can make the front pieces shorter and the shawl collar bigger?? I am not quite sure how to go about this! Any suggestions would be helpful!
At the beginning of the year I also made the coolest quilt EVER! I made my boyfriend for our one year anniversary a Beatles Yellow Submarine quilt. The quilting that holds the pieces together is submarine shapes and the backing is a piece of fleece with yellow submarines on it! The binding is yellow satin and I used rainbow thread to hold it on and do the quilting! It is seriously beautiful! I'm very happy with how it turned out! I will put up pictures soon!!!
My other newest endeavor is that I am going to start making corsets and selling them, most likely via etsy.com
I found some online that I really liked but they were SO expensive like 200$ and I don't have that kind of money to spend even if it is EXTREMELY cool. So I figure I can make my own and they will be EVEN cooler! I just have to use the right fabrics, maybe some embelishments! Suggestions on this would also be welcomed....
The only other thing going on is my work on my Knitting for the Zombie Apocalypse book. I have a few projects done so far and would really like to come up with at least 15 total. and then add a zombie playlist, movie list and potentially a book or game list! Maybe even instructions on how to host a Zombie Knitting Party! OO that would be fun I want to have one now! oh wait, I need friends who knit first! Any knitters want to come to a Zombie Knitting Party?

Knitting -- Not just for the Elderly
The other day I was in walmart with my Boyfriend, whom I love dearly.... He like most men in their 20's is addicted to video games. While I can't really say anything poor about this addiction as I too enjoy to play. However, he will spend $8 dollars a piece for magazines about the games and anywhere from $10 - $100 for games... Yet when I said I wanted to pop over to the craft department to see if the new issue of Vouge Knitting was out he proceeded to mock me because he assumes that only elderly people knit. The truth is I love to knit. I can do it during classes, movies, car rides.... I have busy hands... It helps me focus on things if I can be doing something with my hands while i focus on something else... i guess you'd call it multitasking... So on to my current projects, as of late i have been working on knitting a blanket, two different pairs of socks, a hat, mittens, and fingertipless gloves.... yes that is a lot of projects... yet even though my projects usually turn out right and needless to say gorgeous... a lot of people still look at me peculiarly when i tell them my favorite hobbies are sewing and knitting... I design a lot of clothes and would love to start designing knitting patterns because knitting makes me happy and i would love to see knitting become popular among other people my age... yet a lot of patterns are still geared toward the elderly or middle aged.... It's kind of a downer... Am i the only one who feels this way???
